Ruby and Ed fashion shoot, Paris 2010

If you regularly look at my blog it may look like i just cover weddings, so for a change here are a few photos from a fashion shoot from earlier this year.

Back in February i had the chance to go over to Paris to shoot Ruby and Ed’s Autumn and Winter 2010 / 11 campaign. so armed with a Peli case full of camera kit, studio lights and a ridiculous bill for extra luggage courtesy of East Midlands Airport, i joined Naz, Ed and Olivia from Ruby and Ed for a few days photographing around the French Capital.

Ive been holding onto these for a while as Ruby and Ed’s Autumn Winter brochure has only just launched .

Just spent the last 5 days shooting London Fashion Week, i have been covering this twice yearly event for the last seven years and i still love it.

This year marks 25 years of the British Fashion Council so opening the week was Paul Costelloe, one of the few designers who has been on the catwalk from the beginning.

Being a Canon man, one of the best things about fashion week is being able to borrow kit from Canon who are the main sponsors of London Fashion Week.

It’s a great opportunity to try out the latest cameras and lenses on offer and most importantly try them out in a working environment.

Im looking at getting a 5d mark 2 later this year but i wanted to know just how well it performs in low light conditions so i went backstage and shot some images in natural light pushing the ISO.

Taken on a 5D mark 2, 16-35mm lens, ISO 5000

It looks amazing at ISO 6400 and as i shoot a lot of my wedding photography using available light, this camera is going to be perfect for my kind of wedding photography.

I also got to play with the Canon 200mm f2 lens, so i abandoned my usual spot at the front and headed off to the back of the photographers pit to try it out.

ruby & ed, argyle fashion shoot

Recently back from a 4 day shoot in Argyle, Scotland for Ruby and Ed’s Autumn / Winter 2009 collection.

I would love to show some of the images but I cant, as they are being kept tight under wraps until later this year.

So no fashion shots but heres a couple of the location we were shooting at.

Whilst England ground to a halt in the snow we were holed up on the banks of Loch Goil shooting in the most amazing surroundings. The diffused morning sunlight rising over snow peaked mountains was a dream to shoot in.
