I love the freedom my clients give me to spend most of the day documenting the action, and to capture the look on dad’s face as he sees his daughter in her dress for the first time, well these moments are what wedding photography is all about.

This wedding had the lot. Guests from all over the world, a bride with 3 dress changes, a traditional chinese tea ceremony, a wedding guest flash mob organised by the groom and a Kayleigh dance in the evening, all great fun and a real pleasure to capture.

So to the “King and the Village Girl” it was a real pleasure to capture your day, i hope you both have great time away and although ill try my hardest Louise, I’m not sure ill be able to find any Black Eyed Chili Peppers for the slideshow ; )

I have photographed weddings a Coombe Abbey a few times in the past and it is probably the trickiest venue i have ever shot at. Its a beautiful restored 12th Century Abbey and they have kept the atmosphere by having minimal lighting, fine in the middle of summer but i bet it has caught out a few less experienced photographers during the winter months.
It was real pleasure to cover the day for Susannah and David who were brilliant to work with and i received one of the nicest testimonials from Susannah.

I love a few detail shots and a set of killer posed photos of the bride and groom, don’t get me wrong I’m very, very proud of them, but the ones that really jumped out when looking back are the emotional shots. Dad pacing in up and down in the back garden as his daughter gets ready, mum gripping her sons hand before the ceremony, these are the kind of shots that underpin my whole approach to wedding photography.

Thanks to all the families, guests, staff at venues (who fed and watered me) and fellow wedding suppliers i have met over the year, but of course the biggest thank you has to go to the bride and grooms who trusted me and gave me the freedom on the day to do what i do best, so with that in mind……bring on 2012.

Continuing my 2011 wedding catch up, here’s Ellie and Stephen’ wedding at the fabulous Sutton Bonington Hall back in September, we even had a double rainbow.
