Photos from Hannah and Peters wedding at St Nicholas Church Fleckney and Hothorpe Hall, a wonderful country house on the Leicestershire / Northamptonshire border.
So just before my 2014 weddings kick off, here are a few photos (well quite a lot actually) from last year.
During 2013 I photographed weddings at lots of my regular venues such as Stubton Hall and Langley Priory, visited some fabulous new ones like Hartington Hall on the edge of the Peak Distict and Ragley Hall in Warwickshire and sadly due to closure, I shot my last wedding at my favourite place, Sutton Bonington Hall.
Oh and I got to shoot a wedding in Sorrento in Italy which was nice.
I dont post enough portrait work on the blog so to start the ball rolling heres a lovely black & white lifestyle portrait shoot I did last year with Louise, James and little Matilda.
On the day I had originally planned to do some of the photos outside but due to the weather turning we decided to shoot in one of the hotel rooms. Working in a limited space but with great light and shade, I decided to keep it simple. Louise, James and Matilda in close to each other, tight cropping in camera, and using the available light / simple reflectors to keep a depth to the photos.
I love photographing a wedding thats full of emotion with a great atmosphere and Laura and Gary’s Donington Park Farmhouse winter wedding was one of the best of 2013, with Gary’s son Kit setting most the guests off crying by becoming overwhelmed during the ceremony, these are the kind of documentary photos I’m looking for when I shoot a wedding and these are the photos my clients love the most.
The Farmhouse is tricky venue to shoot in any time of the year and due to the cold and very strong wind we shot nearly all the photos inside the barn, but with a gorgeous sunset on its way there was no way I wanted to miss it, so we braved the weather and caught a couple of lovely silhouette photos.
