This is Lois and Paul’s wedding at St Helens Church in Ashby which is in walking distance from where i live, and then onto Packington for what i can only describe as a wonderful English village fete kind of reception, the transport courtesy of a fabulous vintage single decker bus, home made bunting all over the place, flowers in jam jars as table decs, guests all chipping in to help out and to top it off a couple of cannons being set off (see last photo).
Apart from it being a real pleasure to photograph Lois and Paul’s big day I also learnt a few things from this wedding.
1: I need to shoot more at St Helens Church in Ashby as i forget how great it is to photograph weddings in there, the light and shade is wonderful.
2: Sticking your fingers in your ears is no good when canons are going off, apparently you should slightly open your mouth!
3: Stripy socks can look good.
